Social Media Work

Over the last 4 years, I have developed digital marketing and social media skills that have allowed me to stand out in the industry. Though I have a strong editorial background, I quickly became a "jane-of-all-trades" and eventually found myself extremely passionate about the power of social media and its connection to everything, including
editorial content.

From content creation and brand building to community engagement and influencer marketing, I have honed my social media skills to become knowledgable of digital analytics (Google, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, etc), SEO, and more.

Below you will find some of my current and previous work experiences from managing social media for Swoon (Odyssey's Dating & Relationships Vertical)Reflekt Skincare, MAKERS, and my blog. Should you be interested in working with me or have any questions, please feel free to email me at tayloramead@gmail.com.
As Swoon's Senior Editor I:
  • Brainstorm and create graphics and memes for Facebook and Instagram using Canva
  • Plan and schedule all posts across Facebook and Instagram
  • Use analytics to track best posting times, engagement, et cetera
As Reflekt Skincare's Social Media Community Manager I:

  • Create, edit, and plan social media pipeline for upcoming posts in content calendar
  • Oversee content to be published on Facebook and Instagram
  • Reach out to and developing relationships with influencers
  • Engage with our followers to gain loyal, returning customers
  • Use analytics to track best posting times, follower count, engagement, et cetera

Taylor A. Mead at MAKERS

In my role as the Social & Editorial Fellow at MAKERS from May 2016 to May 2017, I:

  • Managed all social accounts and content calendar for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Promoted our exclusive videos and podcast
  • Shared stories of women breaking barriers in various industries
  • Brainstormed new ways of delivering sharable content to inspire and empower our audience
  • Utilized Insta Stories, Facebook Live, Snapchat Stories, and other social tools to feature interviews I conducted with public figures and celebrities (like Debra Messing, Stacy London, and Kathy Najimy)

In February, I was invited to attend The 2017 MAKERS Conference for which I managed live social coverage for the 3-day event, attended by over 400 invitees. There we got our conference #hashtag trending nationally on Twitter and received our most amount of views ever on a livestream.

After 1 year, MAKERS saw approximately a 55% increase in followers on Instagram.
